In this garden focused tour, enjoy a guided tour of the National Botanical Gardens in Chantilly, VA. The Garden is dedicated to providing a retreat from the stresses of daily life in a unique and whimsical atmosphere, combining art, nature, education and research into a fascinating whole. This is not an ordinary “garden”, starting out with its being the world’s largest constructed garden, equivalent to the Hoover Dam
construction with the massive amount of material used. Spend the second half of the day at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens. Meadowlark is a bold, yet intimate space. Quiet and insulated from urbanity, but replete with nature’s bounty; birds sing, cherry trees bloom, frogs jump, Koi swim intently and dozens of turtles bask in the midday sun.

7:30 AM Depart Sam’s Club, Mechanicsburg
9:45 AM Arrive at The National Botanic Garden in Chantilly, VA for a guided Tour. Dedicated to providing a retreat from the stresses of daily life in a unique and whimsical atmosphere, combining art, nature, education and research into a fascinating whole. And then there is the centerpiece of this world record garden construction, Knop’s Mountain, which is now the highest point of land between the Atlantic Ocean and the foothills of the Blue Ridge, from which one has a 360 degree view looking into 4 states.
1:00 PM Depart for Lunch at Cracker Barrel en route to Meadowlark Botanicals
3:30 PM Enjoy a tour at Meadowlark Botanicals. This is a serene oasis spanning 95 acres of lush greenery and vibrant blooms. With a goal is to celebrate the beauty of nature while fostering a deeper understanding of plant diversity and conservation.
5:00 PM Depart for home

8:00 PM Approximate arrival back to Harrisburg
8:30 PM Approximate arrival back to Mechanicsburg
